As Vice President and Editor-in-Chief of Gold Standard Inc., MaryAnne Hochadel, PharmD, BCPS, oversees all clinical drug database content. Previously, she served as Gold Standard’s Managing Editor for Clinical Pharmacology from 1999-2003 after joining the editorial staff in 1998.
An expert in creating relevant and credible drug information content for healthcare professionals, Dr. Hochadel is also devoted to fulfilling consumer drug information needs. She co-authored The AARP Guide to Pills, a consumer medication guide published in 2006, and currently serves on the Consumer Medication Information Council for the National Council for Patient Information and Education (NCPIE). In 2007, Dr. Hochadel was incepted into the Cambridge Who’s Who Registry of Executives and Professionals for her work in Drug Informatics Publishing.
In addition to her work with Gold Standard, an Elsevier company, Dr. Hochadel continues her staff affiliation “on call” to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Fla., where she initiated clinical pharmacology services for the Family Practice Residency Program and precepted the Pharmacokinetics Service from 1992-1997. Dr. Hochadel also serves as an adjunct clinical professor for the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, and is a long-standing, active member of several national pharmacy organizations. She has also served as a consultant pharmacist in the state of Florida.
Dr. Hochadel received her BS degree in Pharmacy (cum laude) from the University of Arizona in 1988, followed by her Doctor of Pharmacy degree (cum laude) in 1989. After completion of a Residency in Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati Hospitals in 1990, she served as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Internal Medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Hochadel has held adjunct faculty appointments with the Wright State School of Medicine, Ohio Northern University College of Pharmacy, and the University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy.
In 1995, Dr. Hochadel received Board Certification as a Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) and was re-certified in 2002.
